Meet Our Executive Board

Archit, from Rochester, MI, co-founded OTHA in the Spring of 2024 and is passionate about promoting and destigmatizing organ donation and supporting patients throughout the transplant process. Archit conducts research on microfluidic artificial lungs at Michigan Medicine's Extracorporeal Life Support Lab and leads a project team focused on developing nutritionally assistive devices for children with cerebral palsy in Bangladesh. Archit also enjoys crocheting, gaming, and creating new devices in his free time.

Jennifer is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and co-founded OTHA in Spring 2024. She is very passionate about combining her interest in healthcare and service, promoting the organ donor registry, and destigmatizing the topic of transplantation. Outside of OTHA, she volunteers at the University of Michigan Student-Run Free Clinic (UMSRFC) to help uninsured and underinsured patients navigate insurance barriers and is a part of Partners in Health Engage to advocate for global health funding. In her free time, Jennifer loves baking and watching movies with her friends, exploring new restaurants, and meeting new people.

Joseph, or Joe, works as the Secretary of OTHA, whose work includes managing internal communications, maintaining organizational records, and helping ensure members stay informed about meetings, events, and opportunities throughout the academic year. Outside of OTHA, he is a Senior Chemistry major involved in research, and his interests include movies, television, and trying new restaurants.

Alexander, or Alex, is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and serves as the Treasurer of OTHA at the University of Michigan. In this role, he enjoys budgeting and planning fundraising events. He is a Neuroscience major devoted to research and tentatively hopes to have a bright future ahead of him.

Sylvia is from San Jose, California, and enjoys learning about organ donation and transplantation while helping educate others through OTHA. She is especially interested in how advances in transplantation can improve health span and quality of life for older adults. Outside of OTHA, she enjoys running, playing pickleball and soccer, and spending time with friends.

Maddy is from Boise, Idaho, and joined OTHA because she is interested in public health advocacy and learning about holistic health systems. Some of her favorite parts about the club are sharing her enthusiasm for organ donation with the community, participating in craft nights, and assisting with the Annual Transplant Center Research Symposiums. Maddy also enjoys the piano, LinkedIn games, paddleboarding, cafe hopping, and pickleball with her friends.

Ritika is from Fremont, California, and joined OTHA to learn more about organ transplantation and make a tangible impact in the field. She enjoys OTHA's interactive speaker events and educational presentations that help destigmatize transplantation while educating the community. Some of Ritika's hobbies include trying new cafes, arts and crafts, and exploring the Arb.

Abigail is from Taichung, Taiwan, and is studying Biology, Health, and Society. She was part of OTHA's founding team and plans to attend nursing school after graduation, with a particular interest in direct patient care. Abigail is on leave for Fall 2026.
